 What is Havening?

When I first experienced Havening Techniques® for myself I realised how profound and quick change could be. It’s a fast, effective and accessible therapy that uses the simple application of soothing touch to generate delta brain waves. As a neuro-scientific mind-body technique, it offers the possibility of de-linking traumatic encoding in the part of the brain that is our warning and alarm system, and healing from past trauma.

Sometimes we can recall events quite clearly and other times memories aren’t conscious, which means patterns and behaviours can be present in daily life that we don't recognise, or understand. With gentle questioning and guidance we can let go of the patterns, associated meaning and limitations and step more fully into the present moment, empowered and able to make clearer, conscious choices.  

Havening has been shown to help with anxiety, phobias, stress, distressing memories, behaviour patterns, body memory (sensations and movement patterns), depression, chronic pain, decompressing, releasing or integrating emotion, nervousness, blocks (on all levels), limiting beliefs, seeding possibility, preparing for and rehearsing upcoming events… and so much more.

What to expect

I will guide you in a calm, grounded, non-judgemental way to allow a sense of deepening peace and lightness. Sessions can be online or in person, both are highly effective. With feedback from clients such as 'I feel liberated!   • Using this deceptively simple technique we are also generating neurochemical changes that can help to build greater resilience, and with practice we can develop a stronger sense of our truest self as well as great strength and resourcefulness. Havening is such a compassionate and kind way of working, it does not require us staying with troubling memories or speaking about what has happened in the past. To make a lasting change a moment of recall is enough and there can be lightness and gentleness even when navigating the most distressing moments in time. Re-imagining or re-framing past trauma, or adverse circumstances, allows for our depth of resourcefulness and inner qualities to be embodied and brought into present day.

  • Sessions are totally client-centred, truly collaborative and gently guided, whilst being led by your own inner knowing and wisest self. Weaving awareness through language, imagery, somatic body-based sensations and our innate access to creativity, the techniques help release the past and awaken the brightest and fullest potential of each individual. This strengthens and inspires self leadership and puts you at the centre of your self and your life. Once we release the past we can move through and beyond patterns, blocks and fears with ease and be free to experience ourselves within the life we once only dreamed of.
